Truecrypt is not a yet-another-privacy-tool, but it stands out from the rest by being open source and still providing one of the best encryption algorithms to secure the sensitive data. It is capable of creating encrypted volumes which can be mounted on the fly. It also has the ability to encrypt the system partition or any other partition, including portable drives.
